Rhoda Kubasti, an active 39-year-old woman, is now fighting for her life after a minivan hit her head-on in a tragic accident last week.

Rhoda was strolling with her dog, Ghost, on Gallatin Pike, when an unfortunate turn of events led to her being hit by a minivan. The dog, in a display of exceptional loyalty, dashed back home to alert the family of the accident. If it weren’t for Ghost, Rhoda’s family would have been completely in the dark about the tragic event that unfolded.

According to witnesses at the scene, the minivan struck Rhoda head-on leading to grave injuries. Ghost, who was with her at the time, ran off at high speed, heading straight for home. Rhoda’s mom, Joyce Manter, couldn’t express enough gratitude for Ghost’s alertness. “He came back home, and she wasn’t with him, so he let us know within an hour of this accident what had happened,” a tearful Manter said. Rhoda’s home is a mere 15-minute stroll from the accident site, near the Rivergate Skate Center.

Rhoda has been placed under intensive care following the accident. She incurred broken bones and a brain injury, leaving her unconscious. “Wake up and come back to us. God is our healer and just perform a miracle on her,” Manter prays with high hopes of her daughter recouping completely from this catastrophic incident.

Due to hospital visit restrictions, Ghost is currently placed in a foster home.
