Nashville is buzzing with excitement as Universal Music Group Nashville (UMGN) recently announced the promotion of Damon Moberly to the position of Senior Vice President of Promotion. This news comes straight from the top, where UMGN Chair and CEO, Cindy Mabe, emphasized her enthusiasm for Moberly’s new role, saying, “Damon is such a champion of great artists and songs. His passion for music and his skillset of building people and teams makes him the perfect person to lead our promotion team to new depths.”
A Seasoned Veteran in the Industry
Moberly isn’t just a new face in the office; he is a long-standing pillar of the Nashville music scene, bringing over 25 years of experience with the label group. Having climbed the ranks from the top, he most recently served as the Senior Vice President and head of the Mercury Nashville radio promo team. His career kicked off with a bang, marking the promotional launch of Shania Twain’s monumental album, Come On Over. Talk about starting with a hit!
From that point on, Moberly has played a significant role in shaping the careers of many revered country artists including Sammy Kershaw, Terri Clark, Sugarland, and Jamey Johnson. His expertise doesn’t stop there; he has also taken on impressive projects that brought legendary songs and artists into the country music spotlight.

Among Moberly’s career highlights is his work on Eagles singles at country radio. He also contributed to the runaway success of “I’m A Man of Constant Sorrow” from the blockbuster movie soundtrack, O Brother, Where Art Thou?
