Bitcoin 2024 (hereafter, B24), a massive Bitcoin conference, is slated to convene 24-27 July at the Music City Center in Nashville, Tennessee. The event expects to attract as many as 20,000 attendees, reflecting Nashville’s burgeoning reputation as a hub for the tech-savvy and entrepreneurial.
The selection of Nashville, according to BTC Inc’s CEO David Bailey, was influenced by the city’s “freedom-loving mindset and entrepreneurial spirit”, in addition to its geographic position as a strategic inland location. Offering a different cultural environment than the previous location, Miami, the personnel behind BTC believe Nashville is an appealing alternative.
Bailey has also underscored that Bitcoin, Bitcoin mining, and non-fungible tokens (NFTs) could create jobs and generate wealth, thanks to a rising “populist energy”.
B24 anticipates a roster of 375 confirmed speakers and numerous satellite events during “Bitcoin Week”. Despite the robust planning, there is no guarantee that the annual Bitcoin conference will return to Nashville in future years, indicating the uniqueness of this event.
Prominent figures who are expected to speak at the event include self-proclaimed Bitcoin maximalist David Bailey, and Robert F. Kennedy Jr, the Independent Presidential Candidate making his second appearance at the annual conference.
In a significant move, BTC has extended an invitation to members of the Biden Administration and other leading Democratic Party figures, reflecting the conference’s non-partisan approach. Brandon Green, BTC’s Chief of Staff, emphasizes that Bitcoin is non-partisan and the conference welcomes anyone committed to integrating Bitcoin into America’s financial future.
Also listed as speakers are Tennessee U.S. Senators Marsha Blackburn and Bill Hagerty who have influential roles in domains like Senate banking, commerce, technology, foreign relations, taxation and finance. Both senators have formerly expressed their views on crypto-related issues and are opponents to the creation of a U.S. central bank digital currency (CBDC), as they believe it would potentially erode privacy.
The conference is expected to announce winners of the developer’s Hackathon and those who won in various categories during a Pitch Day exclusively attended by industry pass holders. Moreover, the conference will feature the B24 Continuing Legal Education (CLE) Program, centered on the regulatory landscape and emerging legal issues related to cryptocurrency.
Apart from these, the conference will host the “Women of Bitcoin Brunch” and will reveal the winners of an original Bitcoin-themed vinyl record contest. To introduce younger audiences to Bitcoin, student festival passes will be made available, and a Bitcoin STEM education program has been designed for children aged 6–12.
