Bones Owens Debuts New EP “Eighteen Wheeler,” a Haunting Mixture of Americana Tunes and Authentic Delta Blues, Ahead of Sophomore Album Release

Nashville – Local musician Bones Owens released his latest EP, Eighteen Wheeler, today via Thirty Tigers, with the outstanding track “Bring Me Back.” The undercurrent tune carries a haunting and irresistible charm, subtly resonating within the listener’s psyche, anchored by a compelling vocal performance and persistent piano and percussion rhythms.

This new release follows the title track, Eighteen Wheeler, a continuation of Owens’ distinct, melody-rich Americana style, which has gained more theatric and evocative depth. The EP presents a sonic shift, teasing audiences with the anticipated sound of Owens’ upcoming full-length sophomore album, due in Summer 2024.

Discussing the inspirations behind his latest work, Owens stated, “This EP came out of my need to look backward in order to move forward. It has hints of my early EPs but is also a bridge to the full-length on the way in 2024.”

Known for his versatile approach to creating music, Owens has participated in a wide range of collaborations, including artists such as Yelawolf, Mikky Ekko, and Jelly Roll. His work also extends to performing on tours with Kaleo, Koe Wetzel, and Whiskey Myers.

Owens self-released solo EPs and his consistent touring schedule caught the attention of Thirty Tigers, leading to the release of his debut album, Bones Owens, in 2021. The Eighteen Wheeler EP introduces a new angle in Owens’ music, deviating from the high-energy, stage-centered styling of his debut album while maintaining his signature storytelling, authentic Delta blues, and expressive lyricism.

The new EP also features a tender and intimate tone, though it maintains a strong connection to Owen’s early folk-inspired EPs and his years of experience as a Nashville musician. This record undoubtedly presents the most heartfelt and distinctive sound from Owens.

In addition to his new EP release, Owens announced a set of six shows running in March 2024, including a performance at Nashville’s Basement on March 6th. The newly released Eighteen Wheeler EP is now waiting to be unravelled by music lovers everywhere.
