Nashville, December 2, 2023 – A keen fusion of Americana and Delta blues has emerged from Nashville, with the release of Bones Owens’ new EP, Eighteen Wheeler. Released by Thirty Tigers, the EP incorporates a riveting focus track: “Bring Me Back,” a notable single showcasing a compelling melange of strong vocals, persistent piano, and powerful percussion.
With Eighteen Wheeler, Owens delves into a melodious expedition that kindles an unprecedented cinematic sentiment. This musical tour de force stands as a prelude to Owens’ sophomoric full-length album, expected in the summer of 2024. Owens presents a fresh and explorative direction in this EP, which he believes acts as a pivotal bridge to his forthcoming album.
“Eighteen Wheeler emerged from my need to reflect on my past to navigate my future. It bears traces of my early work but serves as a conduit to the fully developed album coming in 2024,” shared Bones Owens.
This Nashville-based artist is typically known for his multifaceted approach to music, showing a rare capability to morph according to the tone and demands of diverse projects. His wide-ranging collaborations with artists from Yelawolf to Mikky Ekko and Jelly Roll exhibit his versatility. Owens’ previous self-released solo EPs and a relentless touring schedule attracted the attention of Thirty Tigers which then went on to release Owens’ self-titled debut album in 2021.
With Eighteen Wheeler, Owens moves away from his debut LP’s raucous, live performance-focused style, adopting a more delicate and emotive approach. However, his heartfelt storytelling, authentic island blues spirit, and evocative lyricism are still notably influential. The vulnerability expressed in this six-song record arguably makes it Owens’ most distinct creation to date.
Fans will be able to catch Owens live at one of his six-show run in March 2024, with a special performance at the Basement in Nashville scheduled for the 6th.
