About Byrdie Wilson
Born in New York and raised in South Carolina, Byrdie has faced several challenges throughout her life. She was born with a cleft palate and had to undergo multiple surgeries. Thanks to encouragement and support, Byrdie developed a passion for music at an early age. She signed herself up for a talent show at just six years old, confidently declaring to her family that she would “be someone.”
After honing her vocal skills with renowned coaches such as Celeste Simone and Michael Orland from American Idol, Byrdie began working on her own music. In 2018, she partnered with musician Rob Arthur to produce her first songs. A tough period followed where Byrdie took a break from songwriting after the loss of her boyfriend in November 2020. This tragic event, however, inspired her to advocate for mental health and suicide prevention.
At the age of 19, Byrdie relocated to Nashville with the guidance of musician Erik Halbig. Her breakthrough single ‘Broadway’ gained traction on TikTok, racking up over 49K views and 17K streams on Spotify. Her subsequent releases, including ‘Where My Roots Run’ in November 2023 and the recent ‘Keep On Truckin’ in July 2024, further established her as a talent on the rise with over 220K streams on Spotify.
