CMA Fest – A Brief History
Initially called Fan Fair®, the Ultimate Country Music Fan Experienceâ„¢ was conceived in 1972. The premier fest brought in only 5,000 fans to Nashville’s Municipal Auditorium. Today, the acclaimed festival has risen as the city’s signature Country Music event, bringing in droves of fans amounting to tens of thousands from all 50 states and 39 international countries.
CMA Fest is a festival like no other, with hundreds of artists volunteering to perform, thereby allowing for the proceeds to directly benefit high-quality music programs across the country via the CMA Foundation. The festival features a unique blend of music, entertainment, and fan engagement that transcends the typical concert experience.
