Cody Jinks Unveils Poignant New Track “Sober Thing” Ahead of Momentous Album ‘Change The Game’; Partners with Luke Combs for 2024 Stadium Tour

Nashville, TN, Saturday, December 2, 2023 – Country music dynamo Cody Jinks’ has unveiled his latest poignant track, “Sober Thing” today. This heartfelt anthem arrives ahead of Jinks’ much-anticipated album release, ‘Change The Game’, scheduled on March 22 via his own label, Late August Records, crafted in partnership with The Orchard.

“Sober Thing” was penned by Jinks following the completion of the ‘Mercy’ album. According to Cody, the lyrics are a transparent testament to his arduous journey with sobriety. He stated, “I was giving up a twenty-plus year affair with whiskey and every word of that song is true. I don’t remember writing some of my biggest songs but I damn sure remember writing that one.”

Co-produced by Ryan Hewitt and Joshua Thompson, Jinks’ long-standing bassist, ‘Change The Game’ marks a pivotal juncture in Jinks’ career. The album encompasses twelve stirring tracks demonstrating Jinks’ signature outlaw country spirit, while exploring unchartered territories of artistic maturity. Personal battles with sobriety, the stark realities of life on the road, and the need for redemption and accountability are fearlessly brought to the fore in this album. Commenting on the project, Jinks confessed, “This is the most open and honest record I’ve ever recorded, I laid everything out.”

Further enhancing the diverse flavor of ‘Change The Game’, the record features a compelling rendition of Faith No More’s “Take This Bottle,” with special guest Pearl Aday, as well as the vibrant lead single, “Outlaws & Mustangs.” Jinks’ live performance schedule will extend through 2024 and include venues such as Nashville’s Ascend Amphitheater, Los Angeles’ Greek Theater, Dallas’ Dos Equis Pavilion and Minneapolis’ The Armory. He will also join forces with Luke Combs in his “Growin’ Up and Gettin’ Old” stadium tour next spring.

Regarded as a beacon of support for independent artists, Jinks recently signed Erin Viancourt, who released her debut album to widespread critical acclaim. More than a singer, Jinks’ impact can be felt throughout the music industry, with his music exceeding 3.5 billion streams across all platforms. His tireless dedication to his craft is equally matched by his commitment to authenticity, with ‘Change The Game’ poised to be a bold testament to this unyielding spirit.
