This event is part of the ongoing series, Nashville Cats, that highlights exceptional musicians and singers who have been instrumental in backing artists in recording studios and concert tours. The schedule is set for Saturday, August 17, 2024, at 2:30 pm, in the museum’s Ford Theater.

A Storied Career of Remarkable Accomplishments

Garnering admiration from legends like Garth Brooks, George Jones, Willie Nelson, Sam Phillips, and Elvis Presley, all members of the Country Music Hall of Fame, Bobby Wood’s music journey is unparalleled. He grew up on a family farm in Mississippi before venturing to Memphis post-high school, to follow his passion for music.

After convalescing, he shifted his attention to session work and songwriting. Wood became an integral part of the Memphis Boys, the celebrated studio crew, contributing to numerous hits recorded at the American Sound Studio.

Relocating to Nashville in 1972, Wood recorded with fellow Hall of Fame members such as Kris Kristofferson, Kenny Rogers, and Tammy Wynette, among others. He has been a significant part of Garth Brooks’ studio band since the start of Brooks’ prominent career.

An Interactive Progam with Unprecedented Insight

The interview will be conducted by RJ Smith, a seasoned museum writer-editor, that promises unique insights into Wood’s illustrious career. The program will be enhanced with vintage photos, film, and recordings to make it a more interactive experience for attendees. As part of the standard admission, it is free for museum members. Although the seating is limited, tickets for the program can be purchased online.

A Unique Opportunity to Learn from the Best

This highly anticipated event will give fans a rare opportunity to delve deep into the life and career of one of the music industry’s most respected keyboardists. Through stories, anecdotes, audiovisual aids, and firsthand experiences, attendees will get an unprecedented look into the journey of a man who made notable contributions to the music industry.
