Tucker Wetmore: A Rising Star in Country Music

Transition from Athlete to Musician

The 24-year-old musician hails from Kalama, Washington. Tucker Wetmore is a fresh signing to EMI Nashville. Only six months in, the signs are clear that he is destined for stardom. But it is not only his instrumental talents that have propelled him towards success. It is evident that the determination, hard work, and natural talent that once pointed Wetmore to a successful sports career is now driving his journey in the music industry.

After sustaining a serious injury during a spring football game at Montana Tech in 2019, Wetmore’s football dreams were crushed. However, this setback didn’t deter him. Instead, he transferred his focus to music, seeking solace in his guitar. The first song he ever wrote followed not long after.

A Chameleon of Genres

Despite hailing from a small town and being imbued with the country music lifestyle, Wetmore shows versatility in his music. He was exposed to a wide array of genres growing up, from heavy metal to reggae to soul music. This exposure is reflected in his music, which has struck a chord with millions on platforms such as Spotify and TikTok. His ability to mix country with elements of popular Western culture music has undoubtedly attracted a wider range of listeners.

Making Music That Feels True

“I’m singing songs that I’ve written that feel true to me.” Wetmore shared. He is currently exploring the plethora of options Music City has to offer and is keen on working with top professionals in the industry. Wetmore has shown a knack for bringing people together to create art, reminiscent of the camaraderie he experienced in sports locker rooms. He is currently collaborating with industry-respected writers and producers such as Gabe Foust, Chris LaCorte, and Justin Ebach.

Looking Ahead

Wetmore has covered considerable ground in a short amount of time. He is now looking towards future aspirations. He yearns to write a hit song with his friends that would add value to Nashville’s music community, akin to how ‘The House That Built Me’ united the spirits of Tom Douglas, Allen Shamblin, and Miranda Lambert.

While his journey in the music industry might be new, Wetmore is no stranger to being in the spotlight. He shares: “Sports taught me to chase dreams with a goal-driven mindset in the brightest spotlight possible.” With an artist’s soul and an athlete’s mindset, Tucker Wetmore is on track for success in the country music scene.
