Nashville – It was an unexpected surprise when podcaster Alex Cooper found herself greeted by Kelsea Ballerini’s boyfriend, Chase Stokes, during a recent announcement on her “Call Her Daddy” video podcast. Amid their in-depth conversation, the country singer unveiled the charming story behind her newly acquired Nashville home, a picturesque cottage from the 1920s that surfaced from an inquiry with its former owner and fellow country music sensation Kacey Musgraves.
Kelsea Ballerini takes ownership of a two-decade old Nashville cottage
“I’ve always wanted a house that doesn’t compel me to behave as a fully mature adult yet”, Ballerini shared during the conversation. A casual Zillow search led her to love at first sight with the charming cottage but the ownership exchange was not an immediate one. After initially missing out on the property, she moved to a nearby location, however, that didn’t quite hit the spot.
A significant property exchange between country music stars
The breakthrough happened following Ballerini’s split with country star Morgan Evans. She texted Musgraves with an unusual but heartfelt request, asking to be informed first if she ever planned to sell the cottage. The request matured into an affirmative response within a month. Talking about the unique nature of the deal, Ballerini said that it was agreed upon artist to artist, sans the involvement of property agents, and referred to the house as a ‘healing house’, a sentiment that previously echoed in Musgrave’s declaration to “Architectural Digest”.
Woman-to-woman property transaction
Ballerini told Cooper that they did not even employ real estate agents for the transaction. Instead, they opted for a woman-to-woman deal, which she described as “making her a bit emotional”. Thus, the cottage sees a new beginning with a new owner, encapsulating a saga of strength, friendship, and emotional healing amongst two of the most widely loved women in the country music scene.
