As the music scene in Nashville gears up for another exciting season, Drew and Ellie Holcomb have just dropped some thrilling news. The beloved couple has announced that their new studio album, Memory Bank, will be officially released on January 24th. That’s right, folks – they’ve been hard at work and are ready to share their creative journey with all of us!
For those who may not be familiar, Drew and Ellie have been making waves on their own for over a decade, each carving out successful music careers. They first crossed paths in school at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Over the years, they’ve nurtured their love for music and for each other, marrying in 2006 and combining their talents.
This year, during one of their annual You & Me tours, the couple decided to dive into writing music together. The outcome? An album that perfectly captures their blended artistry. It’s an exciting time in their lives where they have come together to create something that shines a light on both of their abilities equally.
The title track, Memory Bank, is already out, and if you haven’t heard it yet, you’re in for a treat. Drew described his fascination with travel and adventure as a kid, sharing that his parents would take him and his siblings on road trips across the country. He noted, “I think this love of adventure and seeing and experiencing new things was one of the reasons I chose this life of music.”
This heartfelt connection to exploration and joy forms the basis of their new song. Drew continues, “We may die broke but we will have a great time and see a lot of great things.” It’s a beautiful reminder to live life with open arms and to treasure those special moments. Their hope? That Memory Bank becomes an anthem for listeners, encouraging everyone to cherish the memories they create.
But that’s not all! To celebrate the album’s release, Drew and Ellie are gearing up for their biggest headline tour in the US. The excitement kicks off on February 5th at the Saenger Theatre in Mobile, Alabama, and the tour will wrap up at the iconic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville on May 3rd. It’s an impressive journey they’re set to embark on!
Ellie Holcomb is no stranger to success herself. Since her departure from the band in 2012, she’s released three studio albums, including the much-praised Canyon in 2021. Known for her enchanting voice and heartfelt lyrics, she has earned four GMA Dove Awards and has even penned three children’s books and a devotional, with over half a million copies sold!
The enthusiastic couple has also expressed their excitement for this new chapter in their artistic partnership as they aim to inspire their fans and create unforgettable experiences through music. With the Memory Bank album and tour, Drew and Ellie Holcomb are ready to share their journey and their love for adventure with the world.
If you’re a fan of heartfelt music, traveling stories, and adventure, this is the moment you’ve been waiting for. Be sure to mark your calendars and keep an eye out for tickets – you won’t want to miss this!
