A Journey Through Music

Kristin’s story begins in Philadelphia and Ocean City, New Jersey, where she developed a love for music at a very young age. Through her high school years, she honed her skills by studying under an accomplished violinist from the Philadelphia Philharmonic Orchestra. This rigorous classical training laid the foundation for her music career, giving her the technical prowess to venture into different styles.

One of the more daring moves in her career came when she joined the pioneering all-women bluegrass band, Buffalo Gals. Those experiences truly expanded her musical horizons and prepared her for what was to come.

Kristin eventually made a name for herself in the country music scene, particularly when she arranged strings for the legendary band Alabama. This collaboration opened the door for countless opportunities, and since the 1980s, she has become one of Nashville’s most sought-after string arrangers. To date, she boasts an impressive resume with credits that span across country, rock, and pop projects.

Among her many accolades, Kristin has worked on recordings for some of country music’s biggest stars, including Kenny Chesney, Steve Earle, and Trisha Yearwood. In addition to studio work, Kristin has graced many stages, teaming up with artists such as Brandi Carlile, Regina Spektor, and Chris Stapleton for live performances. Most recently, she arranged the overture for Greta Van Fleet’s world tour in 2024, showcasing her versatility in different musical realms.

A Diverse Portfolio

Kristin’s talents don’t stop with recordings and live performances. She has also made a significant impact on television, lending her arranging skills for the CMA Awards, the annual CMA Country Christmas special, and CMT’s Artists of the Year events. Her work within the world of television demonstrates her adaptability and wide-ranging appeal.
