Chase Williamson’s “Souls Grown Deep” at Coop
Kicking things off is Chase Williamson with his multimedia painting exhibition titled “Souls Grown Deep.” This vibrant showcase is part of Coop’s fantastic “Ten in Tenn” series, featuring local talent from the Volunteer State. The exhibition will be open from 1-9 p.m. at Coop, located at 507 Hagan St. Williamson’s work includes colorful portraits infused with feminist narratives, meaningful social justice messages, and a beautiful homage to the horticultural traditions of African American women. Expect to be amazed by his adventurous use of materials, like oil paint, glitter, and an array of fabrics that bring each piece to life!
Gallery Rap Session: David Lusk
At David Lusk Gallery, also on April 5, art lovers can check out a two-person show featuring the works of Bruce Brainard and George Dombek. Channeling those spring vibes, Brainard’s oil-painted landscapes will leave you feeling refreshed, while Dombek’s butterfly collection invites you into a world full of color and wonder. Neue Welt’s “Epigraph” and More

A Variety of Displays at Zeitgeist Gallery
Meanwhile, Zeitgeist Gallery will present separate exhibitions by Jim Ann Howard, Richard Painter, and Lain York throughout April. Howard’s artwork focuses on earth mother figures, inspired by her research at the Jungian Institute, in her exhibit titled “Mother Me Mother.” Painter’s pieces depict the “Burghers of Calais” in a series of five striking paintings on felt, while York’s “Permian Chapters” takes a thoughtful look at the geological period known for the largest recorded mass extinction through multimedia art. These exhibitions will have an opening reception happening from 5-8 p.m. on April 5 at 516 Hagan St..
