Nashville’s Children’s Theatre Unveils Interactive Adaptation of “The Wheels on the Bus” Starting October 5

Nashville Welcomes a Whimsical Stage Adaptation of a Beloved Classic

Nashville families, gather ’round! A delightful theatrical experience is just around the corner, and it’s all centered around a familiar tune that many of us have sung to our little ones. “The Wheels on the Bus” is making its way to the Nashville Children’s Theatre (NCT) starting Saturday, October 5, and it’s sure to be a hit with both the young and the young at heart!

A Journey Through a Whimsical Town

Imagine stepping onto a vibrant stage filled with colorful characters that practically leap to life! Crafted by the talented Ernie Nolan and directed by Chad Parsons, this immersive and interactive production invites the youngest audiences—think children ages 0-5—to hop on board and join Bert the Bus Driver and his trusty vehicle, Busby, on their whimsical daily route through an enchanting city.

Set against the backdrop of artwork and music inspired by the 1940s and 1950s, this show is more than just a performance; it’s an engaging experience! As Bert drives the bus, he introduces the audience to a host of charming city characters, each packed with their own sets of comic quirks that will keep kids giggling and captivated.

Get Ready to Join the Fun!

What makes this production truly special is its highly interactive nature. Not only will the audience watch the story unfold, but they’ll also step into the shoes of trainee city bus drivers! Imagine helping navigate Busby’s route, singing along as the wipers go swish, the horns beep, and all the passengers move to the back. It’s a chance for each child to actively participate and feel like a vital part of the story!

The talented duo of Eve Petty and Jakholbi Murry will breathe life into these colorful characters, ensuring that every performance is filled with excitement and engagement.

Fostering Community and Imagination

The show not only entertains but also teaches valuable lessons about community and the importance of helping one another. It’s a fun-filled journey that creates lasting memories! “Our goal with this production is to create a truly interactive experience that resonates with our very youngest audiences,” Parsons explained. “The story and vision that Ernie has created are nothing short of magical, and I am beyond honored to bring this playful story to life. We want to encourage exploration, imagination, and, most importantly, a shared experience that brings joy to families.”

Snuggery Stage Awaits!

This production marks the seventh offering in NCT’s Snuggery program, specifically crafted for the littlest members of our community. All performances will take place on the cozy Snuggery stage, designed to provide an accessible arts experience that everyone can enjoy together. To make sure everyone gets a great view, booster seats will be provided, ensuring no one misses out on any of the magical moments!
