A peaceful Easter Brunch was brutally disrupted in Nashville at a popular local eatery, ‘Roasted’, in the Salemtown neighborhood. Around 3 pm this Sunday, a man began firing his weapon inside the bustling restaurant, tragically claiming one life and injuring several others.
Based on preliminary investigations, it appears that the unidentified gunman arrived at the restaurant shortly before the shooting with a female companion. The two men, who officials believe had no prior connection, reportedly began to argue, escalating to a point where the gunman started firing his weapon openly.
Amongst the victims is a man who is believed to be the one the suspect was arguing with. He succumbed to the gunshot wounds. Meanwhile, at least eight other individuals experienced various degrees of injury and were swiftly transported from the scene to the hospital by the responding emergency teams. The condition of the victims remains unknown at this time.
After turning the formerly relaxed setting into a scene of havoc and panic, the gunman and his companion fled the scene. Witnesses reported seeing the pair depart in a Mercedes GLS 450. Meanwhile, local law enforcement agencies have been working strenuously to track down the assailant, who had been identified as 46-year-old Anton Rucker on Sunday night.
Police officials extended a plea for public assistance in apprehending Rucker, urging anyone with potentially helpful information about the suspect or the incident to come forward. The Metro Police can be contacted at 615-862-8600.
This violent incident has sent shock waves through the Nashville community, especially as it occurred during a holiday meant to be a time of joy and family togetherness. The local community is reeling from the incident and waiting anxiously for progress in the investigation.
