Nashville’s Renowned Law Firm GSRM Relocates Downtown, Thompson Burton Welcomes New Partners, and Bradley Partner Achieves ACMA Fellowship

Nashville Family Law Firm Moves Downtown: Other Legal Updates

GSRM Family Law Section Relocates

In what appears to be a strategic move geared towards enhancing customer service, the renowned law firm Gullett Sanford Robinson & Martin (GSRM) just announced the relocation of its family law section to a more central location. The law firm will now be located at The Pinnacle at Symphony Place, right in the heart of downtown Nashville.

The family law section was previously part of MTR Family Law, which merged with GSRM Law in January 2022 and had an office at 205 23rd Avenue N, in Midtown. Following the merge, the plan was to operate from both locations until GSRM’s lease at The Pinnacle ended in 2025. However, the firm has recently signed a lease extension through 2027, triggering the decision to consolidate operations under one roof.

This move will bring all its 34 attorneys together, enabling them to provide a diverse array of services for clients. The services will include family law, real estate, labor and employment, corporate, tax planning, and hospitality services.

Thompson Burton Expands Team

In parallel news, Thompson Burton has welcomed Brian Boyd as a partner. Boyd, an expert in tax law, will start a tax practice at the firm’s Franklin office. Before joining Thompson Burton, Boyd ran his own firm, Boyd & Wills, in Brentwood.

Adding to the team, Thompson Burton also announced that Johnathan Billings is joining their firm as an associate. Based in Huntsville, Billings will join the real estate practice group. He previously worked for K&L Gates in the Nashville office and other Birmingham-based firms.

Thompson Burton’s co-founder and managing partner, Kevin Thompson, expressed his excitement about adding Brian and Johnathan to their team, citing their innovative and flexible approach as crucial for delivering best results to clients.

ACMA Fellowship for Bradley Partner

Meanwhile, Brooks Smith, a partner in the Nashville office of Bradley Arant Boult Cummings, has been named a fellow of the American College of Mortgage Attorneys (ACMA). Smith’s practice is centered around real estate transactions. In his work, Smith handles contract negotiations and legal opinion documents for developers and other real estate professionals.

Smith, who has contributed countless articles on real estate and finance topics, will be formally inducted into the ACMA membership as a fellow in September. ACMA is a notable professional group comprising real estate finance attorneys from across North America.
