Additionally, post-midnight bus services will help attendees return home safely after the celebrations.

Nashville Rolls Out Free Public Transit for New Year’s Eve Festivities

As the clock winds down to 2024, Nashville is ready to celebrate in style, and the city has a fantastic plan in place to help everyone enjoy the New Year’s Eve revelry. This year, the WeGo Public Transit system is offering free rides on all bus routes and the Access service starting at 6 p.m. on December 31. It’s a perfect opportunity to get together with friends, enjoy the festivities, and leave the car at home.

A Smooth Ride to the Party

To make your night out even easier, a special shuttle service will be running a continuous loop between Broadway and Bicentennial Mall every 10 minutes starting at 6:15 p.m. and continuing until 1:30 a.m.. There’s no need to worry about parking or navigating through the bustling crowds, as this service will have you hopping from one hot spot to another without any hassle.

Catch the WeGo Star Train

For those looking to experience the festivities from the comfort of a train, the WeGo Star special event train is also on the table for New Year’s Eve. It will arrive at Riverfront Station at 8 p.m. and will depart one hour after the New Year celebrations conclude. Round-trip tickets for the WeGo Star train are priced at $15 plus a $2 processing fee. Keep in mind, only 650 tickets are available for the general public, so get yours early! Ticket sales will close an hour prior to departure or when they sell out.

And here’s a sweet deal for families: children aged 4 and under can ride for free but will need to sit on a parent’s lap. How convenient is that?

Post-Midnight Bus Services

As the night advances, WeGo doesn’t let up. Buses will continue to depart from WeGo Central after midnight at 12:15 a.m., 12:45 a.m., and 1:15 a.m.. These buses will serve major corridor routes including West End, Bordeaux, Nolensville Pike, and more. It’s a seamless way to return home after the celebrations!

Plan Ahead for Easy Travel

Heads up, many buses will be on detours through downtown, but they will switch back to regular routing outside that area. Passengers heading out post-midnight are encouraged to board at WeGo Central due to potential detours affecting downtown stops. For those driving in, Park & Rides are available outside of Downtown and connect with select late-night bus routes.

Helpful Tips for a Great Night

As you hop on-board, remember to consider WeGo Link and rideshare options for your first-mile/last-mile connections. This will make your travels even smoother! If you’re returning from the Star train, load-up on James Robertson Parkway between 6th and 7th Avenues after the event. Just a friendly reminder: personal items including bikes, wagons, and coolers of any size are not permitted on the New Year’s Eve train. Plus, all belongings will be subject to a search, ensuring a safe and fun environment for everyone.
