Nashville Welcomes New Support for Foster Kids: Isaiah 117 House Fundraiser Event

In the vibrant city of Nashville, a new initiative is looking to make a significant impact in the lives of children entering the foster care system. The nonprofit organization, Isaiah 117 House, is hosting a much-anticipated fundraiser event on Monday. This is all in support of their newly opened house in Davidson County, and it’s a perfect opportunity for the community to come together and support a worthy cause.

What’s Happening at the Fundraiser

The fundraiser will include both a delicious luncheon and a heartfelt dinner, ensuring there’s a chance for everyone to participate, whether they’re free during the day or available in the evening. The lunch will be held from noon to 1 p.m., followed by dinner from 6 to 7 p.m.. Guests can expect to hear from local speakers and officials, who will share insights on the incredible work being done at Isaiah 117 House and the need for support in the community.

A New Beginning for Foster Kids

On a bright Wednesday morning just last week, Isaiah 117 House officially cut the ribbon on its newest location at 1600 Baptist World Center Drive. This state-of-the-art house is set to be a sanctuary for children who have been removed from their homes, providing them a loving and supportive environment as they await placement in foster care.

“Currently, when a child is removed in a county without an Isaiah 117 House, the child must wait in the child welfare services office,” explained Jessica Biggs from the organization. Unfortunately, this often means that these children experience distressing realities such as feeling dirty, hungry, tired, and scared. Even worse, they often have to leave behind their personal belongings, making an already traumatic situation even more heartbreaking.

However, with the establishment of the new Isaiah 117 House, the goal is to prevent such scenarios. Biggs added, “Isaiah 117 House allows for that same child to never go to an office, but rather a home with loving volunteers to care for them.” Through the support of the community and local businesses, the organization aims to ensure that the children not only feel safe but also cared for during one of the most challenging times in their lives.

The Ripple Effect Across the Country

The impact of Isaiah 117 House extends beyond just Nashville. The organization currently operates in several states, with locations in Tennessee, Indiana, Georgia, Florida, Michigan, Ohio, South Carolina, Texas, North Carolina, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. Each house serves as a beacon of hope for local children needing care and support, showcasing a model of compassion and community engagement.
