It was a magical night in Nashville last Wednesday (Oct. 30), as country music star Dustin Lynch took to the stage to celebrate a remarkable milestone in his career—10 No. 1 hits! The atmosphere was alive with excitement at the Skydeck on Broadway, where friends, family, and industry insiders gathered to toast Lynch’s achievements under the beautiful night sky.
The celebration kicked off with the enthusiastic welcome of BMI’s MaryAnn Keen, who introduced the event and presented a pair of double plaques recognizing Lynch’s latest chart-toppers, “Stars Like Confetti” and “Chevrolet (feat. Jelly Roll).” Accompanying her was a fantastic lineup of teams representing ASCAP, BMI, BBR Music Group/BMG Nashville, and others, all coming together to raise a glass to Lynch and his talented producer, Zach Crowell.
Crowell, who co-wrote “Stars Like Confetti” alongside Josh Thompson and Thomas Rhett—both of whom were sadly unable to attend—received enthusiastic cheers when celebrated for the hit. The writers behind “Chevrolet,” which features the popular artist Jelly Roll, were also recognized. The inspiration for “Chevrolet” was credited to a friendly beach playlist, shared by writer Chase McGill.
As the event unfolded, Keen also took a moment to honor the late Mentor Williams, whose classic “Drift Away” served as the foundation for “Chevrolet.” She noted how Lynch and the songwriters paid respect to Williams’ legacy by introducing his timeless work to a new generation. “His legacy is alive and well,” Keen stated confidently, which drew nods of agreement from the crowd.
BMG’s Jon Loba then took to the microphone to praise Lynch, emphasizing his tireless work ethic in the studio and the importance of collaboration in creating incredible music. “I haven’t been this excited about Dustin’s career in years,” he exclaimed, hinting at some exciting, genre-changing music and events on the horizon that the fans should stay tuned for.
When it was finally Lynch’s turn at the mic, he expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the team responsible for his success. “This job is easier when you share the stage, studios, and writing rooms with the best in the world,” he beamed, acknowledging the contributions of producers, writers, and his dedicated crew. His excitement for the future was palpable as he noted, “Tonight is about being present and celebrating—not just me, but all of us.”
As the event opened to the public, Lynch dove into an impressive 11-song set that brought the crowd to life. He started with his Platinum hit “Where It’s At” and moved swiftly through his collection of smash singles. One standout moment came midway through when Peter Strickland from BBR Music Group/BMG Nashville surprised Lynch with a double-Platinum certification plaque for the six-week No. 1 “Thinking ‘Bout You (feat. MacKenzie Porter).”
This set included other fan favorites like “Ridin’ Roads,” “Good Girl,” and the triple-Platinum, four-week chart-topper “Small Town Boy.” The man of the hour didn’t just stop with the hits; he also performed his breakout song “Cowboys and Angels,” sharing a touching story about the song’s inspiration drawn from his beloved grandparents.
In the heart of Nashville, with tunes echoing into the night, it was clear that Dustin Lynch’s career is flourishing and bright. He’s ready to embrace the future with open arms, showcasing the immense talent and collaboration that fuel his success. Here’s to celebrating not just a career, but a community that uplifts and inspires!
