Nashville Celebrates Songwriting Excellence at the Annual Gold & Platinum Gala
Last night, Nashville was buzzing with excitement as the National Music Publishers Association (NMPA) held its annual Gold & Platinum Gala at the prestigious Country Music Hall of Fame. This vibrant gathering has quickly become a must-attend event in the Nashville music scene, and this year, it brought together over 500 talented songwriters, artists, managers, and music advocates.
Recognizing the Best in Music
The gala’s primary focus was to honor the incredible songwriting talent that has shone over the past year. More than 150 Gold, Platinum, and multi-Platinum certified songwriters were recognized, with their achievements certified by the RIAA during the eligibility period from July 2023 to June 2024. It was a night of recognition, celebration, and camaraderie!
As the night progressed, NMPA team members called up award winners to accept their plaques, accompanied by roaring applause from the audience. The atmosphere was electric as each writer walked on stage with their song blasting through the speakers, creating a moment of pure joy and achievement. Some of the notable songwriters accepting their awards included Chris DeStefano, Laura Veltz, Jonathan Singleton, and Dustin Lynch, among many others.

The talented Hailey Whitters hit the stage with her catchy tune “Everything She Ain’t”, while Bailey Zimmerman impressed the crowd with his songs “Fall In Love” and “Rock And A Hard Place”. Other performances included Breland shining with “For What It’s Worth” and “Same Work”, and Jordan Davis captivating the audience with “Next Thing You Know” and “Buy Dirt”. The energy in the room soared as these talented artists showcased their skills.
Celebrating the Top Songwriters
This year’s gala also spotlighted the top songwriters of the year. Jessi Alexander took home the coveted title of Top Female Songwriter, celebrating an impressive six song certifications, including hits like “The Way I Talk” and “You, Me, And Whiskey”. The title of Top Male Songwriter was awarded to the phenomenal Ashley Gorley, who achieved a staggering 26 song certifications, featuring works for well-known artists such as Lee Brice and Morgan Wallen.
