News Summary

The Metro Nashville Police Department continues to update its Most Wanted list, featuring dangerous fugitives wanted for serious crimes such as homicide and assault. Notable suspects include Muhina, charged with murder, and Lagarrion Blacksmith, implicated in a deadly shooting. Community awareness is critical in apprehending these offenders, with over 150 captures since the list’s inception. As the police seek public assistance, it highlights the role of community vigilance in ensuring safety in Nashville.

Metro Nashville’s Most Wanted: Dangerous Fugitives on the Loose

If you live in Metro Nashville, it’s high time to pay attention to the latest updates on the city’s Most Wanted list. Each Wednesday, the Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) updates this ever-important list on their Criminal Warrants Division’s Facebook page. They focus on the individuals deemed the most dangerous, and currently, several fugitives on this list are wanted for serious crimes, including homicide and assault.

Breaking Down the Current Most Wanted

This week, one name catching a lot of attention is that of Muhina, a 24-year-old man who is facing a slew of severe charges. He has been indicted by a federal grand jury for crimes that include first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit first-degree murder. The charges stem from a tragic shooting incident back in September 2021 that resulted in the death of 16-year-old Ja’Niya Birdsong and left another teen injured. Reports suggest that she was shot in her grandmother’s driveway during an argument, and disturbing messages revealed plans to tamper with evidence after the crime.

Also making headlines is Lagarrion Blacksmith, aged 35. He has been on the run for over a year in connection to a deadly shooting outside a bar on Dickerson Pike in February 2023, during which Chancellor Eddins was found shot and later succumbed to his injuries. This case has locals concerned, and the police are keen on tracking him down.

Another fugitive is Raceme Crutcher, a 22-year-old who allegedly played a role in a Fourth of July shooting that left 16-year-old Etabo Malanda dead. With so many young lives at risk due to violent clashes, the community is on edge, eagerly awaiting justice.

Other Notable Names

The focus on those wanted doesn’t end there. De’tynn Smith, just 21 years old, is facing some of the most serious charges on the list, including first-degree murder and aggravated robbery. There’s also Devon Martak, a 39-year-old man wanted on multiple counts of rape, who has a troubling criminal past.

Additionally, Yudel Ordunez, aged 52, remains on the list for several weeks now for charges that include rape without consent—this troubling information raises concerns about safety in the neighborhood.

We cannot ignore Marcellus Springer, a 20-year-old wanted for statutory rape, who has been evading authorities for over a month. Newer additions include Anthony Howland, 38, sought for vehicular homicide and assault, while Timothy Sales, 20, has been listed for two weeks now on multiple aggravated assault charges with a deadly weapon.

Not to forget Ladirus Howard, 39, who is facing multiple charges, including strangulation and aggravated assault. The law enforcement agency is appealing to the public for help to locate these dangerous offenders, urging anyone with information to come forward.

Impact of the Most Wanted List

Since its inception in October 2022, the Most Wanted list has helped law enforcement apprehend over 150 individuals, including several who sought refuge outside the county or even out of state. It’s a powerful reminder that community awareness and participation in public safety can make a significant difference.

In a brighter note this week, Whitney Warren—the only woman on the list for the current month—has surrendered to authorities, showing that the pressure does work and turning over a new leaf is possible.

The MNPD is counting on the public’s vigilance to provide any leads on these fugitives. If you think you know something, don’t hesitate to reach out to the police or Crime Stoppers. With the right help, we can work together to make Nashville a safer place for everyone.
