NASHVILLE – Onoleigh, a rising star in the Nashville music scene, has released a new single, “Walls”, a deeply personal and moving song about her formative years. The song was co-written with John Oates and Nathan Chapman, and tells the story of the room Onoleigh grew up in.
A Missouri University graduate, Onoleigh made a beeline for Nashville following her graduation. Quickly immersing herself in the local music scene, she engaged in writing and performing her original songs. Her latest work, “Walls”, showcases her childhood with an emotional resonance, delving into themes of solitude, personal growth, and self-awareness in the absence of an audience.
Drawing significant attention, “Walls” has been featured by notable platforms like Nashville Scene, Entertainment Focus, and The Bluegrass Situation, amongst others. The song is available to listeners on digital platforms globally through this link: https://onerpm.link/_walls.
Previously Onoleigh released songs such as “Tightrope,” co-written with Kenny Foster, her summertime anthem “Why Can’t We Dance,” “Beautifully Broken” and “Make It Hurt,” which was written by Maren Morris, Rhett Akins, and Chris DeStefano.
In her conversation with The Bluegrass Situation, Onoleigh revealed, “My childhood bedroom was my sanctuary. It was where I could introspect and contemplate my identity and my future without any societal or personal pressure. The idea that the walls of my room were my quiet companions in my journey fascinated me. John Oates, Nathan Chapman, and I wove this sentiment into the beautiful narrative of ‘Walls’.”
Onoleigh, who was a guidance counselor, uses her innate empathy and compassion to create songs that resonate with listeners on a deep level. Her music, which embodies her journey of self-discovery, has already garnered over 300,000 streams on Spotify and has also been featured in a viral TikTok video with over 500,000 views.
Named as “an artist to watch” by Music Connection and “a force to be reckoned with” by Guitar Girl Magazine, Onoleigh’s music career, embarked in Nashville, offers her an exciting journey ahead. More information on Onoleigh and her music can be found on her website at https://www.Onoleigh.com.
