Nashville Tragedy: Second Suspect Faces New Federal Charges Following TSU Shooting
Nashville, Tenn. — It was a chilling scene that no one could have anticipated during what was meant to be a joyous celebration. Following the shooting, officials from the Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) began their search for Davis and his co-suspect, 24-year-old DeAnthony Brown. Their efforts led them to a short-term rental home in North Nashville on Monday, October 14. While the police prepared to make the arrests, aerial footage showed a startling escape attempt from Davis.
In a seemingly desperate move, Davis attempted to flee onto the roof and then proceeded to an adjacent rooftop, where he discarded a firearm, as detailed in a complaint from the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ). Thankfully, officers were able to apprehend him before he could evade justice. They recovered a Franklin Armory Inc., Model FAI-15 caliber multi-pistol in the vicinity of where he dumped the weapon.

Davis now faces state homicide charges along with a new federal charge for being a felon in possession of a firearm. It’s worth noting that this is not his first encounter with the law; Davis has previous felony convictions for robbery and possession of a controlled substance.
