Hey there, music lovers! If you’re in Nashville and craving a dose of some nostalgic tunes, then buckle up because Sixpence None the Richer is back in town! After more than a decade away from the stage, this beloved alt-pop rock band is ready to rekindle the magic that made them a household name in the late ’90s. That’s right, folks! Tonight, October 27, you can catch them live at Exit/In, performing alongside the talented Anna Vaus. Isn’t that exciting?
Let’s rewind a bit. Sixpence None the Richer was formed in the early ’90s in New Braunfels, Texas. They released a couple of albums that found their footing in the Christian rock scene, but it was their 1997 self-titled album that launched them into the limelight. Who could forget that iconic single, “Kiss Me”? And their catchy cover of “There She Goes” by the La’s? Those tracks are truly etched in our hearts.
Fast forward to the early 2000s, and this band was a force to be reckoned with. They were racking up Grammy nominations, performing on late-night shows, and selling out world tours. But in 2004, much to the dismay of fans, the group decided to call it quits and pursue solo endeavors. But don’t worry, this story has a happy twist!
After a few years of doing their own thing, the core members of Sixpence None the Richer, including frontwoman Leigh Nash, guitarist and songwriter Matt Slocum, bassist Justin Cary, and drummer Dale Baker, reunited in 2007. They released a couple of projects, including a Christmas album and an EP. However, fans had to wait until 2012 for their first original full-length album in a decade, titled Lost in Translation.
Since then, the band has been somewhat quiet, but last year, the air buzzed with excitement when Nash released a new single titled “The Tide”, credited to Sixpence None the Richer. This signaled that the band was ready for more, and their recent reunion proves just that. It’s been over 20 years since this lineup has been together, making this a moment fans won’t want to miss!
In line with their comeback, Sixpence has kicked off a tour celebrating their 25th anniversary (yes, technically, it’s for their self-titled album which dropped 27 years ago, but whose counting?). The tour sees them finally back in Nashville after being absent from the live scene for quite a while.
So, whether you were a fan back in the day singing along to their hits or have recently discovered their music, now’s the perfect opportunity to experience their songs live. The concert kicks off at 8 p.m. tonight, with doors opening at 7 p.m. Grab your friends, relive the nostalgia, and maybe even squeeze in a little dancing!
Tickets for this highly anticipated show are available for $45.14, and trust us, they won’t last long! You definitely don’t want to miss out on witnessing the magic of Sixpence None the Richer live on stage. This is a unique chance to catch a band that has not only shaped the pop rock landscape but also holds a special place in the hearts of countless fans.
As the band truly embodies the spirit of coming together through music, let’s celebrate their reunion and relish every moment we can enjoy their enchanting melodies once again. So mark your calendars, grab your tickets, and let’s make tonight a memorable one in Nashville! We can’t wait!
