Nashville has made a big splash this past week with its decisive transit plan victory. In a surprising turn, voters in the city approved a half-cent sales tax increase, which is set to fund a massive $3.1 billion plan over 15 years. Miami-Dade County Commissioner Eileen Higgins noted that the measure was a way to gauge public support before moving forward with future funding, which might roll out in a proposed bond referendum in 2026.
