Nolensville Teen Facing Major Charges Over Multiple Smash-and-Grab Burglaries in Nashville Area

Nolensville, TN – Teen Charged in Series of Smash-and-Grab Burglaries

In a troubling turn of events, a 19-year-old has found himself facing serious charges after being identified as a suspect in multiple burglaries across Nashville, including a notable smash-and-grab incident at a local vape shop. The Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) publicly confirmed the arrest of Thomas Membreno-Rodriquez on August 14 after a thorough investigation linked him to a string of criminal activities that have shocked the community.

Details of the Arrest

The evidence against Membreno-Rodriquez is substantial. Police have accused him of being part of a group that used stolen vehicles to ram through the entrances of businesses, causing **significant damages**. These incidents have led to damages amounting to tens of thousands of dollars as they targeted various establishments in the Nashville area.

One of the standout crimes occurred on July 29, when a stolen red vehicle was used to break into a Vape Station located on Nolensville Road. Surveillance footage captured the shocking moment when the vehicle crashed into the shop. The thieves, part of a group including Membreno-Rodriquez, swiftly entered the store and made off with more than $15,000 worth of merchandise, including valuable vape supplies.

Damages and Community Impact

Upon the arrival of police, the damage was apparent—not only was there a large hole in the wall of the vape shop, but products were also scattered across the parking lot. The owner of Vape Station described his anger and disbelief at the level of destruction, expressing that being a victim of such a serious crime felt like a personal affront.

Linking the Crimes

Investigators did not take long to connect the dots. A week after the Vape Station incident, another vehicle, stolen from Smyrna, was used in another smash-and-grab at High Caliber Weaponry Training in Donelson on August 5. The investigative efforts of the MNPD made it clear that Membreno-Rodriquez and his associates were behind a series of similar crimes throughout the Nashville area.

According to Lieutenant Josh Combs of the NPD, the police department did an exceptional job of piecing together the crimes through extensive interviews with the suspects. This allowed them to establish a connection not only to the vape shop burglary but also to several other similar incidents across the region.

Charges and Legal Proceedings

Membreno-Rodriquez is currently being held at the Downtown Detention Center on a staggering bond of $268,500. He faces a total of 26 charges, including but not limited to burglary, vandalism, and property theft. While investigations continue, additional suspects have also been identified as part of this case.

Authorities revealed that much of the merchandise stolen during these burglaries could be resold, although it remains unclear whether the resale market is local or if the items are being moved out of state for profit. The police continue their efforts to track down the other individuals connected to these burglaries.

Looking Ahead

As of now, Membreno-Rodriquez has not been formally charged in Williamson County, but police expect that to change shortly. The situation highlights a growing concern about crime in the area and has left many community members feeling uneasy.

In light of these events, local business owners are urged to review their security measures to prevent such unfortunate incidents. The community remains vigilant, hoping that further arrests will be made and that these crimes will not escalate.

Conclusion

The case against Thomas Membreno-Rodriquez serves as a stark reminder of the challenges facing small businesses in Nashville and surrounding areas. It illustrates the impact that organized crime can have on a community, not just in terms of property loss but also in terms of the emotional toll it takes on business owners and local residents alike.
