Thieves Caught on Camera Stealing Furniture from Buena Vista Porches
Disturbing Spree of Thefts in North Nashville
Nashville, TN – Residents in North Nashville have reported an alarming series of thefts in the past few weeks. Intruders are swooping onto porches and making off with everything from chairs to tables and even decorative items. The majority of these absurd incidents have been captured on video.
The surveillance footage prominently shows unidentified individuals casually trespassing onto porches, lifting furniture items, and leaving without the slightest hesitation. “To me, that’s just ridiculous,” remarks resident Brittany Alexander, one of the unfortunate victims of these thefts.
Residents’ Shock and Concern
In the early hours of the morning, Alexander was stirred from her sleep by an alert from her doorbell camera. Flipping on all the house lights, she managed to chase off the intruder. Within twenty minutes of this incident, the thief audaciously returned to the scene, making off with the remaining items. “It’s scary with that kind of stuff. You get woken up out of bed, what are you supposed to do?” laments Alexander.
These incidents, however, are not confined to Alexander’s property alone. Stephen Lackey, another resident, testifies that these thefts have been a constant menace for several weeks. From garden tools to porch furniture, no item is seemingly safe from the relentless thieves.
After having all her furnishings stolen, another victim reports that they even pilfered donations she had set aside for The Salvation Army. As such instances proliferate, the local community is rattled. Lackey expresses concern over the matter and reveals, “Some of our neighbors have gotten it worse than us.”
Residents Taking Measures
In response to the crime wave, affected residents are taking measures to safeguard their properties. Many have vowed to install additional surveillance tech to better capture the intruders. However, it’s more than just cameras. Lackey echoes the sentiments of several residents, stating, “If we want to put some nice stuff out, we’re going to put it out, but I’m going to have to lock it to my porch so you can’t leave with it.”
The local police force has been informed of the situation and is investigating the incidents. In the meantime, residents have been advised to remain vigilant about this string of criminal activities happening in their neighborhood. While grateful for the amplified patrols, many feel there is only so much that law enforcement can do. “I’m glad that they are patrolling a little bit more, but there’s just a lot you can’t really do”, AIexander says.
