In the bustling music city of Nashville, country star Riley Green is truly on a roll, and he’s doing it all with his signature Southern charm. Known for his down-to-earth attitude and genuine approach to songwriting, Green is riding high following the release of his recent album, Don’t Mind If I Do. But that’s not all – he’s also making a splash with his new hunting- and fishing-themed bar, as well as receiving his first nomination for a CMA (Country Music Association) Award!
With Thanksgiving just around the corner, Green reflects on how fortunate he feels. “I’m very blessed in a lot of ways with my music career, and now having a bar and things I never really dreamed of,” he shares warmly. His new bar, Riley Green’s Duck Blind, recently opened in the heart of Nashville, taking over the spot that had housed Winners for years. This location holds sentimental value for Green, who made incredible connections there during his early days in the city as an aspiring artist.
The bar represents more than just a business venture; it’s a passion project. Green has put his heart into creating a space that reflects his love for the outdoors. “I wanted it to be something that was a good extension of me. I’ve definitely been a big outdoorsman my whole life,” he explains. The bar aims to be a burger joint and sports bar with a strong hunting and fishing theme, complete with a stage for up-and-coming musicians to showcase their talents
As if running a bar and raising a toast to his budding career weren’t enough, Green is also up for a CMA Award for his duet, You Look Like You Love Me, featuring Ella Langley. This is his first nomination, and he’s genuinely excited. “It’s motivating to know that style can still turn heads,” he said about the traditional country sound evident in his music.
Cementing his reputation even further, Green has just released his third album, Don’t Mind If I Do, which showcases a collection of 18 heartfelt songs. The album includes familiar themes such as the romance of riverbanks and the pain of burned bridges. He’s not afraid to get personal, writing five tracks solo, allowing fans an intimate glimpse into his experiences and emotions.
This album isn’t just a solo effort; it features collaborations with other artists, including a lighthearted tune titled Reel Problems with country superstar Luke Bryan. For Green, this song captured the camaraderie they share, especially during their fishing outings. “It just needed to be a real fun, light song,” he said, sharing his excitement about possibly filming a music video for it in a boat on the lake.
Perhaps one of the most poignant songs on the album is Jesus Saves, which reflects on homelessness and the humanity behind it. Green hopes to spread compassion through this track, reminding listeners that everyone has their struggles. “You don’t really know what somebody’s been through,” he emphasizes, bringing attention to an important social issue that needs our empathy.
With his blends of talented collaborations, a new bar that embodies his lifestyle, and genuine storytelling in his music, Riley Green is definitely making a mark on the Nashville scene. As the CMA Awards approach, excitement buzzes in the air, and fans are rooting for Green to take home the coveted award.
This season is about gratitude and celebration, with Green’s new ventures bringing warmth and authenticity to his fans and community. Whether it’s through his captivating songs, the lively atmosphere of Riley Green’s Duck Blind, or the camaraderie of fellow musicians, one thing is clear: Riley Green is not just an artist; he’s a reminder of how meaningful connections shape our lives.
