Remembering the Adventurous Spirit of Ryker
Born on February 13, 2003, in Fort Polk, LA, Ryker was a child full of life and energy. Known for his adventurous nature, you could often find him climbing trees or any available structure in his vicinity. As a dynamic youngster, he was constantly on the move, jumping and running, much to the delight and surprise of family and friends. In fact, his exceedingly fearless antics even included climbing garage doors, showcasing a spirit that could only be described as fearless.
Throughout his childhood, Ryker played various sports, including soccer, basketball, hunting, and kayaking, but his high school years saw him turn his focus to track and swimming. Notably, he once broke his arm while still managing to finish a 500m freestyle race, demonstrating not just a strong competitive spirit but also an unyielding determination.
A Bright Future Cut Short
After graduating high school, Ryker relocated to Nashville, where he spent a year working while pursuing a trades education in welding. He soon joined the workforce at ARCOSA, where he was celebrated for his friendly nature, which allowed him to connect effortlessly with new people. As ambitious as he was, Ryker took a brave step forward, deciding to pursue a degree in the Diesel and Automotive Fields. He excelled academically, showing an incredible aptitude for the challenging subjects.
A Heart of Gold
Those who knew Ryker often spoke of his heart of a warrior. He didn’t just live life for himself; Ryker was fiercely loving and protective of those around him. Well-known for championing causes for those in need, he generously gave of himself, proving time and again to be a role model of love, laughter, and joy. His spirit was infectious, and he had a unique ability to uplift those around him.
Family and Friends Left Behind
Sadly, Ryker was preceded in death by both his paternal grandparents, Harlan and Mary Glathar, as well as his maternal grandparents, Tim and Linda Ring. His memory, however, will continue to live on in the hearts of his loved ones, including his mother, Michelle Ring-Glathar from Tifton, GA; his father Ryan Glathar and stepmother Taryn Glathar from Paducah, KY.; and his sister, Kirsten Olson from Clarksville, TN. Additionally, Ryker leaves behind three brothers, Michael Gomez, Nick Sanderson, and William Bryan, along with many aunts, uncles, and a host of devoted cousins, who will surely remember him always.
The memorial service offers a chance for Ryker’s community to come together, share stories, reflect on fond memories, and celebrate a life so rich with adventure and meaning. From his adventurous spirit to his loving heart, Ryker Glathar may have left this world far too soon, but he certainly made an impact during his time here.
