Nashville, TN – Scotty McCreery Invited To The Grand Ole Opry
December 3, 2023 – An unforgettable evening unfolded at Nashville’s Grand Ole Opry last night. Country music star Scotty McCreery was taken completely off guard when fellow artist Garth Brooks, an Opry member himself, invited McCreery to join the prestigious institution.
McCreery was performing on stage as part of the Opry Country Christmas show when Brooks made his surprising entrance. Handing McCreery a wrapped gift, Brooks declared, “This is a Christmas present to the Grand Ole Opry. We would love to invite you to be the newest member of the Opry.” An astounded McCreery eagerly accepted the honor, expressing his gratitude and disbelief at the unexpected turn of events.
“I grew up listening to your records Garth,” said McCreery, “and you’re a part of what made me want to do this for a living. I didn’t think that dream would become a reality, but here we are, because of all of y’all.”
Emotion filled the room as McCreery reflected on his dream of joining the Grand Ole Opry, a prestigious stage where countless iconic musicians have made their mark. Tonight, he became one step closer to joining their rank.
Dan Rogers, Opry Executive Producer, voiced his excitement at welcoming McCreery into the fold. “Scotty consistently delivers and is always at home on the Opry stage. It’ll be exciting to hear the words ‘Scotty McCreery, you’re a member of the Grand Ole Opry!’ in the early days of 2024.” he said. The exact date of McCreery’s induction is yet to be announced.
