SPRINGFIELD, Tenn- A tragedy unfolded on Sunday as two women were murdered in a shooting in Springfield, Tennessee, leading to a Nashville man’s arrest. The Springfield Police reported that a distress call about a disturbance and a gunshot wound led them to the scene of the crime.
Officers responded to the complaint in Robertson County, where they found two women with apparent gunshot wounds inside a parked vehicle. Despite efforts to save both victims, one woman was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other succumbed to her injuries after receiving emergency medical treatment.
The shooting occurred around 2:30 P.M. at 1306 Pine Circle in Springfield. 26-year-old Monray Vontez Johnson of Nashville has been taken into custody and is currently being held at the Robertson County Jail. He faces two counts of criminal homicide charges following the double murder.
