Ensuing a commitment to only five studio albums under his actual name, Simpson captures new horizons in his career with the anticipated release of Passage Du Desir, an eight-song album produced by himself under the persona of Johnny Blue Skies and David Ferguson. The album is to be launched on July 12 on High Top Mountain Records, Sturgill’s own independent label.
Fans can expect a variety of unique compositions encapsulating the charming essence of Simpson’s music, with the recording taking place at Clemont House Recording Studio in Nashville, Tennessee, and the legendary Abbey Road Studios in London, England.
Alongside the album release, the artist is also preparing to return to the stage for the “Why Not? Tour” this fall. Billed as Simpson’s first full-fledged tour in over four years, it includes an extensive 28-date headline journey with performances planned at major venues including The Greek Theatre in Los Angeles, The Gorge Amphitheatre in Washington State, Rupp Arena in Lexington, and Forest Hills Stadium in Queens. The tour will also make a stop on October 25 at Nashville’s famed Bridgestone Arena, much to the delight of local fans.
To ensure only dedicated fans get early access to tour tickets, Simpson has invited fans to register for a pre-sale event that’s open till Monday, June 10.
Eager fans can sign up at sturgillsimpsonlive.com to register for the pre-sale and secure early access to the artist sale starting next Wednesday, June 12.
