Sun Label Group Officially Launches in Nashville, Merging Iconic Music Labels Under a Single Banner

Sun Label Group Launches in Nashville

In a monumental introduction celebrating its rich heritage in the music industry, Sun Label Group was officially launched recently in Nashville. The new venture falls under parent company, Primary Wave Music, merging the historic and individual successes of well-known labels: Sun Records, Gaither Music, Green Hill Music, Rural Rhythm and Emeraldwave by Green Hill.

Leadership

Overseeing operations as President of Sun Label Group, Paul Sizelove’s role is critical. Each of the labels will retain their unique structures, individual spirits and their respective teams under his leadership. Paul Sizelove will continue to lead day-to-day operations as President of Gaither Music Group. Keeping up with the established management structure, Blake Davis will also keep his role as General Manager of Green Hill Music.

The Labels

The roots of Sun Label Group are deeply embedded in the rich history of its constituent labels. With an illustrious musical legacy that spans 160 years, the group embodies a diverse range of musical genres which makes it unique. Sun Records, known for its key role in the birth of rock ‘n’ roll, imparts a classic touch to the group. This is further enhanced by the gospel melodies and multimedia platforms of Gaither Music, the diverse repertoire of Green Hill Music that ranges from jazz to Americana, the deep bluegrass catalog of Rural Rhythm and the ambient relaxing sounds of Emeraldwave by Green Hill.

Vision of the Group

Sizelove views the birth of Sun Label Group as an important junction where tradition meets innovation, stating, “This venture isn’t just about celebrating 160 years of extraordinary sound; it’s about forging a future where music continues to inspire, connect, and evolve.” The future looks promising as the group gears up to develop new partnerships, create new art, broaden its reach and adapt to the changing preferences of music fans.

Launch Celebration

To commemorate this milestone, a grand party was held at Ole Smoky Distillery in Nashville. The evening was hosted by singer Rory Feek from the Gaither Music family, who performed a heartfelt song to set the tone for the event. The celebration saw performances by exceptionally talented artists like jazz musician and songwriter Dara Starr Tucker, and Shawna Thompson from Thompson Square. Their performances left the audience mesmerized and was a fitting tribute to the road paved by these remarkable record labels.

Future Promises

The group is off to an exciting start and music fans have a lot to look forward to. Sun Label Group plans future releases including Shawna Thompson’s upcoming debut solo album, Lean on Neon, set to release on Sun Records in September, and Ruthie Foster’s upcoming album, Mileage, set to release in August. A collaboration between Slash and ZZ Ward for an upcoming blues tour will further elevate the platform’s presence in the music industry.

Sun Label Group’s launch marks a significant chapter in Nashville’s music history. This amalgamation of rich traditions, individuality, and diversity under a common umbrella heralds a new era in the world of music.
