Exciting News for Nashville: Trax Gay Bar Finds a New Home!

Nashville locals have some fantastic news to celebrate! After a few months of uncertainty, Trax gay bar has officially found a new spot to call home, and it’s just a hop, skip, and jump from its previous location. The vibrant bar is now operating out of the former The Tea Room at 1249 Martin St., and they are already making waves in Wedgewood-Houston, much to the delight of their loyal patrons.

A Busy Transition

Owner Steven Kiss shared that the bar has been informally operating out of the new space for about a week now. There are exciting plans in the works, including a name change that’s expected to roll out come January. Kiss explained that Trax originally closed its former residence at 1501 Ensley Blvd. (now known as 303 Bianca Paige Way) at the end of June after a remarkable run of more than 15 years. The previous closure came after the building’s owner decided to end the business’ lease.

A Familiar Vibe, New Ambiance

Known far and wide for its electrifying DJs and fabulous drag events, Trax is ready to bring that same energy to its new space. The new location, nestled in a mixed-use building named Six10 Merritt at The Finery, features some excellent perks. For one, it’s right next to Diskin Cider, which is sure to make for an even more exciting night out.

“Once again, we have a lease instead of owning it, but at least we landed somewhere,” Kiss told us. While he kept the actual costs under wraps, he did mention that having improved parking and additional kitchen space opens up exciting possibilities for the bar’s future. This added space means that Trax can expand its food menu, making it a perfect hangout place for both drinks and bites!

Soft Launch Success

Even though the team conducted a soft opening with very minimal advertising just last Sunday, the turnout was outstanding. “The response has been amazing,” Kiss said, beaming with pride. “It’s a different location, different look, but with everybody back together, it’s still the same feel as the old bar.” The sense of community is alive and well, and it’s clear that both staff and patrons are thrilled to be back together.

A Bit of History

Before Trax took over, The Tea Room was known as pH Nashville, a cocktail bar that made its debut in 2019. The new management hopes to blend the best of both worlds: bringing in the vibrant nightlife spirit of Trax while honoring the space’s previous legacy. The transition to this new model has certainly piqued interest, especially with their exciting plans coming up.

Looking Ahead

Nashville has a heartbeat that resonates with creativity and passion, and Trax is such a vital part of that culture. With events, entertainment, and an inclusive atmosphere, it promises to be a favorite hangout for many. As this new chapter unfolds, we can’t wait to see what’s next for the team and the community that loves them!

Stay tuned for more updates as we watch Trax flourish in its new home. Wedgewood-Houston just got a little more fabulous, and we can’t help but be excited for what’s to come!
