Hey there, Nashville! If you’re a fan of track and field, get ready to mark your calendars because the Vanderbilt Track and Field team has just released its 2025 meet schedule, and it’s packed with thrilling events you won’t want to miss! This season is shaping up to be one for the books, boasting multiple home meets and several famous competitions across the country.
The season kicks off with not one, but two back-to-back home meets right at the beginning of January! First up is the Commodore Challenge on January 10-11, followed closely by the Vanderbilt Invitational on January 17-18. These events promise to showcase some incredible talent and set the stage for what’s to come.
After our local excitement, the team will head to College Station, Texas to participate in the Ted Nelson Invitational on January 24-25. This meet is not just another competition—it’s a great opportunity for our athletes to preview what’s in store for the SEC and NCAA Indoor Championships later in the season.
Another highlight on the indoor calendar is the East Coast Invitational, which will take place on February 7-8 in beautiful Virginia Beach, Virginia. Athletes will then return home for the Music City Challenge on February 14-15, marking the end of the indoor regular season right here in Nashville!
As the track heats up, the athletes will gear up for some key competitions starting with the SEC Indoor Championships, happening from February 27 to March 1 at Texas A&M. Remember to keep an eye out for the NCAA Indoor Championships, taking place on March 14-15 at the Virginia Beach Sports Center. These are critical events that could showcase or elevate our talented athletes!
Once the indoor season wraps up, the outdoor action kicks off with a split-meet weekend on March 27-29, including trips to the Texas Relays and Raleigh Relays. After that, on April 4-5, our Commodores will head south for the Florida Relays. It’s going to be a busy spring!
Outdoor enthusiasts can look forward to the Bryan Clay Invitational and Mt. SAC Relays on April 16-19, along with the Georgia Tech Invitational on April 18-19. One of the most anticipated events is the return of the annual outdoor Music City Challenge, set for May 2-3 right here at home. How great is that?
The excitement doesn’t stop there! As we dive deeper into May, the team will head to the SEC Outdoor Championships from May 15-17, hosted by Kentucky. If our athletes shine in the postseason, they’ll qualify for the NCAA East First Round from May 28-31 in Jacksonville, Florida. The grand finale awaits at the NCAA Championships, taking place June 11-14 at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon.
June will also feature events like the USATF U20 Outdoor Championships on June 19-22 and culminate with the spectacular USATF Outdoor Championships, happening from July 31 to August 3, also in Eugene. Wow, what a summer that promises to be!
