Nashville Prepares for 20th Annual Tour de Nash with Fun-Filled Activities and Multiple Cycling Routes

Nashville Gears Up For Walk Bike Nashville’s 20th Annual Tour de Nash

The streets of Nashville will once again be abuzz with eager cyclists for Walk Bike Nashville’s eagerly anticipated 20th annual Tour de Nash. The event, slated for Saturday, will exhibit a special something beyond bike riding this time around, promising a immersive, fun-filled experience for both participants and spectators.

A Day of Active Fun and Community Building

Walk Bike Nashville welcomes everyone to root for their favorite riders at the intersection of 51st Avenue and Illinois Avenue. Following which, attendees can revel in the rest of the day on 51st Avenue. This street will be blocked off for the event, creating a vibrant, open street where folks can unwind in lawn chairs, engage in card games, adorn the street with colorful chalk, enjoy a picnic, and even groove to some soul-stirring music amongst other exciting activities.

Cycling Routes to Cater to All

While the crowds enjoy themselves at the Open Street venue, cyclists will be embarking on various routes throughout the city. The tour offers a 45-mile route, a 25-mile route, a 9-mile route, and a kids route that is almost a mile long. The routes have been devised to bypass some famous Nashville attractions such as the Centennial Park, the iconic Korean Vets Bridge downtown, and a myriad of parks and greenways dispersed throughout the city. Facilities like water, snacks, restrooms, and bike maintenance stops will be accessible along the way.

The participating bikers are expected to convene at 7:00 AM. Following opening remarks at 7:30 AM, which will feature a talk by Nashville Mayor Freddie O’Connell, the first ride will kick-off at 7:45 AM. Following rides will launch in a staggered fashion, every 15 minutes till 2 PM when all the routes are projected to conclude.

A noteworthy reminder for all city drivers – it’s imperative that they afford adequate time and space for cyclists to cross the roads. Practising this can ensure a safe and enjoyable ride for everyone taking part in Tour de Nash.
