Nashville Band The Wild Feathers Drop New Album “Sirens”, Promising a Journey of Heartfelt Stories and Melodies

Nashville’s Own The Wild Feathers Releases New Album “Sirens”

Nashville, TN – The Wild Feathers, a band known for their rich mix of genres including Americana, country-rock, and folk, has released a new album titled “Sirens”. This release marks over a decade of the band’s journey and comes after the critical success of their previous album, “Alvarado”, in 2021. The band, composed of members Ricky Young, Joel King, Taylor Burns, Ben Dumas, and Brett Moore, has been recognized for their distinctive sound that blends storytelling with rock ‘n’ roll flair.

A Musical Journey

Since their formation in 2010, The Wild Feathers have evolved significantly, both as musicians and individuals. The group’s latest record, “Sirens”, is described as a culmination of years that have been spent on the road performing alongside legends like Willie Nelson and Bob Dylan. It represents the band’s growth and their ongoing quest to create fresh, meaningful music.

“We’re not the band we were 10 years ago. We’re much better writers now. Much better performers. We’ve grown a lot,” says co-founding member Ricky Young about their artistic development.

Recording in Los Angeles

For their new album, The Wild Feathers took a different approach from their previous recordings. They ventured from Nashville to Los Angeles to work with producer Shooter Jennings, known for his collaborations with esteemed artists like Brandi Carlile and Tanya Tucker. The sessions took place in North Hollywood’s Dave’s Room, where the band entered with approximately 30 song ideas but without a detailed pre-production plan, intentionally leaving room for creativity and spontaneity.

“We wanted to approach the album with a fresh perspective,” says Joel King. “If Shooter’s producing this, we’re gonna give him something to do,” he adds with a laugh.

Musical Elements and Themes

“Sirens” promises to take listeners on a sonic journey filled with heartfelt stories and carefully crafted melodies. The album is named after mythical Greek creatures known for their enchanting voices. Its sound is described as a blend of heartland rock with elements that reflect the band’s diverse musical influences.

From the opening track “Stereo,” which sets a vibrant tone, to the more reflective “L.A. Makes Me Sad” and the crime-inspired narrative of “Sleep For Days,” “Sirens” showcases the band’s range. There are lively tracks like “Comedown,” featuring catchy guitar riffs and spirited tunes such as “Pretending,” meant to resonate during live performances, waving hands in the air as fans sing along.

More Than Just Musicians

The band members are not only musicians; they are also acclaimed songwriters. King has lent his talents to Miranda Lambert and Lainey Wilson, both Grammy winners, while Young, Burns, and King have worked with the legendary band The Jayhawks and contributed to the television show “Nashville.”

Having taken a more relaxed approach in the studio this time, focusing on the collective sound rather than stressing over details, The Wild Feathers have produced an album that reflects their tight-knit bond and musical chemistry.

What’s Next for The Wild Feathers

The band is gearing up for the road to support the album, with a tour to promote “Sirens.” They are expected to deliver engaging performances featuring songs that fans have come to love, in addition to new material. The tour kicks off with a notable show at The Basement East in Nashville, scheduled for November 20, 2024, which is anticipated to be an exciting event.

A Bright Future

As The Wild Feathers embrace change and growth, they continue to captivate audiences with their evolving sound. Their dedication to creating authentic music combined with a continual push for artistic innovation makes “Sirens” not just another album, but a true representation of their journey as musicians.

For fans, this album marks another chapter in the band’s evolving story. With a mix of nostalgia and excitement about the future, The Wild Feathers have once again embraced their calling, and this time, the sirens are calling louder than ever.
